Burlington Apple Festival

Upon returning from our train ride, we immediately set out to the neighboring town of Burlington for their apple festival, which only had about an hour and a half left. It was a surprisingly big event. The picture below doesn't show the half of it. Tents surround us. Parking lots for blocks around were devoted to it.

As we walked onto the premises, we noticed that there had apparently been an antique car show. Nice.

This was Shelly's favorite.

Our chief interest was apples and apple products: we bought apple butter, an apple dumpling, an apple tart, and a couple pounds of apples.

Many of the tents were flea markets. One of them had some of the same Avon "Cape Cod" dinnerware that Mom has.

Despite the name of this concession stand, and the bargain prices on fried Oreos, we didn't get anything there, except this picture.

Another major aspect of the festival, apparently, was an awards ceremony for the volunteer fire departments of the area. At least one brigade was decked out in kilts.
